We created cabinets for this remodel of a home in the historic Forest Hills neighborhood. Our friends and colleagues at Ellen Cassilly Architect were the architect for the project. Kennedy Building Company was the Builder.
Our work included a new Kitchen, walk in Pantry, desk area, Mud Room entry cabinets and bench, entertainment - display cabinet

Duke Forest Neighborhood Library

We did this library and screen room project, designed by Linton Architects in 2017.
It features lots of bookshelf space, upper storage, a rolling library ladder and a retractable digital projector screen.
Of particular note is the use of the space above the windows to house the screen and main speakers, which is enclosed by lift-up doors that have speaker grille cloth panels. I also made a Walnut library table to store the digital projector under a drop leaf.

This is a Kitchen Remodel in Durham featuring white Shaker Style frameless cabinetry. The Bamboo island top was re-purposed from the old Kitchen and was re-finished and re-sealed by us before re-installation.

We built these cabinets for a local architect's Kitchen and Bath remodel. The style is modern with extensive use of Strand Bamboo panels which were matched for continuous grain. The project also included several customized storage features.

Chapel Hill Estate Renovation

Welcome home to a secluded estate nestled in the heart of Chapel Hill, meticulously transformed with an eye toward elegance, function, and organization. Our team led this transformative renovation with our client, who was deeply involved in the planning & coordination with partners PadModern, Open Studio Design, and expert cabinet maker Wood Done Right. There was a collective focus on bringing the client's vision to life, ensuring every intricate detail would work to create a unique home that exudes sophistication and charm. 

The project showcases four custom bathrooms, each boasting oversized showers, custom vanities, and exquisite woodwork, complemented by top-of-the-line fixtures and elegant lighting. The Chef's kitchen underwent a complete overhaul, featuring a handmade white plaster Mediterranean-style hood, modern-faced cabinetry with custom inserts for optimal storage solutions, and two oversized islands - one doubling as a wine center facing the adjacent dining area. The living room was reconfigured to highlight a breathtaking solid marble arched fireplace, and the foyer, front music room, and office were revamped with custom glass-encased pocket doors, inviting grasscloth wallpaper, and warm lighting, providing a welcoming atmosphere. The primary dressing room was thoughtfully designed with a quartz-top vanity, providing ample wardrobe storage with a dedicated space for makeup and personal items. An upgraded theater room was outfitted with a full-service snack and beverage center. Every architectural detail was considered, from the graceful archways to the refinished flooring and stairways, creating a seamless flow throughout the estate. This project is a testament to our commitment to craftsmanship, creativity, and collaboration, delivering our client the home of their dreams.

Hillsborough Traditional

This large Kitchen and small Laundry Room in Hillsborough, NC had the advantage of a preliminary design by a local Kitchen designer which the owners used as a basis for the final plan we worked out together.
One nice feature we added was the false "hood" cabinet above the AGA Range, which we used to house some needed lighting for that area.
We also added some embellishments such as built-up cabinet crown, the thick base cabinet end panels, the leg and end panel detail for the sides of the double sided Island, and the base trim wrapping the back and end of the peninsula, facing the family table.
The adjacent Laundry Room was used to house some Kitchen items used less frequently, and a collection of cookbooks. 
Given the limited space available in that room, the owners had a laundry folding counter above the Washer and Dryer, and enclosed storage and broom cabinet spaces.


Modern Maple

We provided grain matched Maple cabinets for this family in Chapel Hill who had worn out the cabinets that were original to the construction of the house.
The owners had a definite idea of what they wanted, providing us with valuable input, and let us take care of working out the details.
We especially like the open shelf spaces under the upper cabinets, which have a false back painted to match the wall allowing for a place to conceal the wiring for the LED under cabinet lighting.
We also built and installed the floating shelf above the windows.

As this remodel evolved the clients decided to bring natural wood and Bamboo surfaces into the design. The main Kitchen and Dining Room are Strand Bamboo. The Kitchenette, Living Room and Master Bath are Walnut. The Home Office and Laundry are Maple. The only painted cabinets were the Master Closet dresser and side entry bench.

Modern Remodel

Classic White and Warm Yellow Create a Perfectly Inviting Space

Warm Santa Cecilia Royale granite countertops accent the classic white cabinetry in this inviting kitchen space in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In this project we used a beautiful fused glass harlequin in greens, whites, reds, and yellows to tie in the colors in the adjacent living room. Opening up the pass through between the living room and kitchen, and adding a raised seating area allows family and friends to spent quality time with the homeowners. The kitchen, nicely situated between the breakfast room and formal dining room, has large amounts of pantry storage and a large island perfect for family gatherings.
